Shoninger Art-Case Upright Piano and Bench

One of a kind - probably made in 1880's or 1890's - no serial number. The legend is that this piano was custom made by the Shoninger Piano Co. of New Haven, CT for the owner of Paine Furniture Co. This furniture co. was a high end manufacturer of quality furniture from late 1800s to, and through, the 1900s up to the 1960s. This piano has new strings, new tuning pins, new key bushing, new key-bed felt throughout and original ivory keys. There are 85 notes on the keyboard which places it's creation in the 19th century. Few owners determined by the integrity of the keys (no chips), no gouges or blemishes in the rare walnut and mahogany veneers; the finish has recently been done with the restoration of it's innards. two pedals (European style).
